We carry excellent quality raw cotton and Belgian Linen. We hand primed our own canvases with Golden Gesso (3 coats) or Gamblin Oil Ground (1 coat of Hide Glue & 2 coats of Oil Ground). We also carry Fine Quality pre-primed Linen from Artfix, Classens, and Fredrix.

Artfix linen is one of the finest Belgian linen on the market. It provides a conservator grade painting surface that assures the artists' expression will survive the passage of time. We carry both Lead Style Oil Primer and Universal Primer Artfix linen. Lead Style Oil Primer provides traditional lead ground qualities without its toxicity. Universal Primer emulates many of the characteristics of oil-based primers, with acrylic's durability and elasticity. All Artfix linen are 85" x 11 yds.

V.A. Classens uses the finest Belgian linens and hand primed in Belgium. The fabrics are carerfully smoothed to remove any imperfections before applying rabbitskin glue and lead-free oil primers of zinc and titanium white.

Fredrix Oil Primed Linen made from select grade imported linen woven to rigid specification. Style 142SP is a single primed, fine, even weave, heavy weight 100% pure linen. Ideal for mural painter. Hand processed, picked and pumiced. Style 111DP, is a heavy weight 100% double primed Belgian linen. Woven to highest quality standards and suitable for most critical work in portraits and fine techniques. Uniform weave.
