We use the finest canvases and linens which are hand primed in our shop. We use Golden White Gesso and Gamblin Oil Ground as our primary acrylic and oil primers.

The standard number of coats for gesso is 2 - 3 coats and oil ground is limited to 2 coats. For linen, one coat of hide glue will be applied prior to primer's application.

In addition, priming wood panels is also available upon request. To achieve a smoother surface, mulitple layers of gesso is suggested. Sanding is necessary in between each coat.

Other primers or mediums, such as colored gesso and modeling paste, are available upon request. Rates vary; please call for pricing.
