Art Alternatives Acrylic Gesso
This white priming ground may be used on a variety of absorbent surfaces where acrylic, oils, tempera or casein will be applied. It has a slight tooth and a slight absorbency to aid adhesion. It can even be used as a primer without the previous application of a glue size.

Gamblin Traditional Gesso
Gamblin's Traditional Gesso is a classic absorbent ground for oil panels which, when mixed with water, forms a luminous painting surface. This traditional gesso uses an oil binder. This is a dry mixture of rabbit skin glue, marble dust, gypsum and titanium dioxide.

Golden Absorbent Ground

Holbein Gesso Bologna
Produced in Italy, Bologna plastic from Holbein is free from calcium carbonate removed by special process. An absorptive ground for oil and most suitable for tempera and gold ground tempera, the plastic, which is gypsum (calcium sulfate dehydrate) is mixed with glue to prepare the gesso undercoat for application to a board or other appropriate surface.
