Gamblin PVA Size for linen and canvas seals the porous surface of fabric support. PVA provides a good size layer that seals the fabric but does not re-absorb atmospheric moisture, or swell and shrink like rabbit skin glue does.

This is the traditional size glue for fabric support. Conservation scientists caution painters that rabbit skin glue absorbs and releases atmospheric moisture leading to the swelling and shrinking of the size layer.

Made from French rabbit skin, Holbein glue is the finest available. In powder form and easily dissolved, Holbein Rabbit Glue offers excellent adhesion and viscosity and is water-proof.
